Our Selection Criteria for Award Recipients

Part of the philosophy at Wine Unify is that all applicants are deserving of access and opportunity. That said, based on our resources and the logistics surrounding effective mentorship, we do have to limit the number of awards we give. The following measures are in place as our selections are made:

• We appoint awards committee members who read each application anonymously.

• We evaluate each application based on pre-determined criteria, including but not limited to need, ability and accomplishments, professional reference, and overall passion evident in each application.

• After careful assessment and discussion, we select finalists and ultimately recipients.

We make every effort to select recipients objectively and fairly. While we are not able to accommodate every applicant, we encourage candidates to continue to apply and to take advantage of our mentorship sessions made available to BIPOC individuals virtually.
