Mary Margaret McCamic
Co-Founder, Master of Wine
Mary Margaret became a Master of Wine in 2016 and has worked in the wine business since 2007. She was the recipient of the Madame Bollinger Medal for the highest overall tasting score on the MW exam in addition to achieving the highest score overall on all parts of the MW exam.
But before she was a Master of Wine, she was a high school English teacher. She earned her Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007. Mary Margaret remains a teacher at heart and has integrated education into every job she’s held in the wine industry over the past 13 years. These days, she keeps one foot in Napa and one foot in Burgundy as the General Manager for Karolus Wine Imports, which is the home of Bonneau du Martray in the United States.
In 2018, Mary Margaret established the George T. Gamblin Memorial Scholarship for MW students in honor of her late father, who would be incredibly proud of Wine Unify’s mission. She is deeply passionate about enhancing and celebrating diversity in the wine industry, and together with Martin Reyes and DLynn Proctor, founded Wine Unify in 2020 with those goals in mind.
